You were found as a newborn, clutched in the arms of your dead mother at the base of a tree. No family came to claim you, but the men who came to your rescue adopted you as their own and became the only parents you’ve ever known. Growing up in the village of Stonebrook, you never want for much, until the day you first fall ill. Life plagues you with a mysterious condition that no one can diagnose or cure. You never know when it will strike or if it will eventually kill you. Living between fear and hope as you age, you try to come into your own as an adult with the ever-looming threat above you. As years pass, your condition seems to improve, until a mysterious mark appears on your body and opens up new questions.
It appears that you’re marked for death with no answers as to why, and your only chance to survive is to go out and seek them.
Journey through the land of Iroda, a fantasy world where the gods have abandoned their people and magic no longer prevails as it once did. Something is brewing that may change this world forever, and you’re in the middle of it, though your role is a mystery you must solve. Wanted dead by some and alive for mysterious purposes by others, you just want to survive. With the help of a few friends, find the answers that you need, and make your choices.

Oswin Twinflower
[AKA: Yarrow] (he/him – gender locked)
A childhood friend who’s just not the same anymore. Once a free-spirited softie with a perpetual smile and a penchant for mischief, Oswin has grown into a dour adult. After he came of age, he slowly distanced himself from you. In the ten years since, interactions between you have been awkward or downright hostile with no in-between. He doesn’t joke anymore. He doesn’t smile anymore. There’s something lost about his eyes these days…
-Personality: despite that furrow in his brow that says ‘stay away,’ Oswin actually prefers being in the company of others, as he cares deeply for friends and family. He’s organized and thorough – valuing the predictable and structured, and being driven to always improve upon his skills. Oswin can also be self-conscious, hard on himself, and a bit insecure.
-Appearance: standing around 6'2"/188cm with athletic build, Oswin has black hair that is slightly wavy and kept to his ears, bright-green hooded eyes, and brown skin with bronze undertones. He has a firm squared jaw, which is often prickled with light scruff. Oswin most often scowls, even when he doesn’t necessarily intend to. He dresses in simple tunics with leather armor and boots, and isn’t one for frivolities save for a special tattoo & necklace hidden under his clothing. A few notable scars mar his flesh, each telling a story. His sword is always kept at his hip.
Zahn
(gender selectable)
A sweet and fun soul whom you meet along your journey. Zahn is just trying to fulfill their duty to their faith. They seek to help you in anyway they can, though there’s something torn behind their smile. Where did this fun-loving acolyte come from, and why do they look so sad when they think no one is looking?
-Personality: social and sweet, Zahn is enthusiastic and open-minded about most things. They’re incredibly flexible (in mind and body) and see possibilities in everything, being highly adaptable and skilled at improvising. Casual, warm, and always friendly and willing to lend a hand, they can make a very trustworthy companion.
-Appearance: about 5'5"/165cm tall with a petite build, wild blond hair and round blue eyes, Zahn has fawn colored skin with a rosy hue, and a dusting of light freckles with a touch too much wind and sun across their cheeks and nose. They appear a bit tired with slightly sunken eyes and a mite too thin with the lines of their jaw and neck a bit too pronounced – evidence of years of difficult living. If they grace you with a toothy smile, you may be lucky enough to see the slight gap in their front teeth. Zahn dresses in rough linen tunics, usually with layers to make up for how thin and hole-filled they are. They have a particularly ratty cloak that they seem to cherish.
Duri’naan
[AKA: Duri] (gender selectable)
A demigod to whom you owe a debt, they seem quite curious about you.
-Personality: charming and laid-back, Duri prefers their own company most of the time but readily embraces tight friendships, of which they never tire – though it is all or nothing for them, no surface-level relationship will work for long. They are perpetually curious and casual, having an air of cool confidence and a love for teasing, which can sometimes make them appear disinterested or cold. They are always paying attention, even if it doesn’t seem like it, and often understand others more than themselves. They can stress easily – especially when things stop being fun, be a bit competitive and too independent for their own good.
-Appearance: standing approximately at 5'9"/175cm with a lithe but toned build, Duri’naan has long and straight grey hair, and honey-brown upturned eyes. Their skin is a warm beige, lit up with a bright smile that sometimes shows off a little sharp snaggle-tooth. They bear a strange scar on the back of their neck and are missing a bit from the upper part of one ear. Duri wears simple clothing made from a single and very long swath of blue-grey linen, wrapped around them in such a way that you’re not quite sure how it stays up. They also hate shoes for some reason and are always barefoot.
Rūndis Lyreheart
[AKA: Rune] (gender selectable)
A serious and powerful mage with an oddly fervent dedication to the God of Destruction, Casimir. Though they are capable of wielding great power, Rune prefers to spend their days as a traveling bard – in part for the purpose of angering their mother. They might have you thinking they would not care about your plight, yet it couldn't be further from the truth. Below Rune's cool confidence that teases indifference, they have a nurturing spirit.
-Personality: Rūndis is an introverted day-dreamer who is curious and in search of deeper meanings at all times. Though they dream, they also have a rational side that comes with a penchant for efficiency and decisiveness. They tend to be calm and analytical, but are prone to anxiety especially in close relationships, making them seem a bit aloof or combative.
-Appearance: standing around 5'7"/173cm, Rune has shoulder-length curly hair that is all black except for a flash of purple on one side. They have almond-shaped purple eyes that are a testament to the magic that flows easily through them, and a beauty mark just under their right eye. They have a strong build and brown skin, wearing a stoic and serious expression that you wouldn’t expect from a bard. Rune favors fine robes and cloaks in colors that match their eyes, but only when they choose to stand out, otherwise they prefer common clothing. Tattooed upon their chest as a sign of devotion is the sigil of Casimir. They also adorn themselves with different types of jewelry.

I loved this so much, more than I can say or type or process properly, felt so immersed, all my choices mattered, you could really anchor yourself in the story via lore and vibrant & lovely & endearing & lively characters, PLUS dynamic & meaningful references/consistencies/respect to the WEALTH of CHOICES (narrative! orentation wise! romance wise! tryst wise! differing sentiment toward differing characters wise!) at my ever-curious little fingertips. I feel truly and duly insane and sit simultaneously ruminating over the things this IF did peerlessly if I do say so myself (pun intended) while also (patiently & reverently, much like a rabid monk) foaming at the mouth for coming chapters. I'm going to keep playing, but I have to say that I find the tense-shifting in the introduction to be jarring. Pick either past or present tense, please.
This is, without a doubt, the best text adventure I've had a pleasure of playing, and I've played a lot.
From the competent and evocative prose, to downright luxurious chapter length, to deliciously written sex scenes (for which you have my particular thanks), this is a treat that will stay with me a long time and I'm eagerly waiting for the continuation.
Playing this for free feels like a steal, which, as a lifelong game pirate, is probably the best compliment I can give.

I really really really love this book its so good but there's one thing I picked up on that I really wasn't a fan of. We got all this buildup about the mad god and it lowkey feels really intense, but then he turns out to be this sweet caring guy, and while I really like his personality, it feels very anti-climatic. Like it would've been cool if you wrote it that he was completely mad and really dangerous one minute (like he was when we first met him in the clearing) and the next moment he's this nice guy (like Nathan) who just happens to be the only person alive that can save MC. Idk if you've read The Poppy War by RF Kuang but I feel like it would've been so much better if he was written a little bit like Suni. That's just my two cents tho
do you mean Duri'naan? I think you might be confusing them with Valko, Nathanael reveals somewhere around the second or third chapter at the campsite that Valko no longer lives in the shrine. im pretty sure he'll appear somewhere in the later chapters or as an endgame but Duri isn't really meant to be insane/unstable ? Sorry if it came across as rude ik this is an old comment it just stuck out to me

I absolutely loved this as I played it, and I have a few questions. 1, do you potentially have a timeline planned for when ch. 8 is going to release? I understand that ch. 7 only came out recently, but I can't wait for more content and want a date to mark on my calendar to take a week off to fully enjoy this. If you don't, that's fine. Just curious. 2, I need more Zahn and Rune in my life, so I was wondering if there were going to be any poly routes included.

SIMPLY AMAZING. This was definitely one of the few things that managed to keep me hooked on the story; normally I give up on stories in 2 chapters (or less). But this really grabbed me, congratulations!!!!!!
NOTE: I was curious about the option to go straight to chapter 6 and I saw that it has the option to choose our height (an option that isn't available if you play from the beginning). I don't know if it was intentional, but I wish that option was available at the start.
I just played for the first time and in chapter three you define your height by comparing it to who you're riding the horse with.

I just finished ch 7 and OMG I don't know what to say... This is a literal masterpiece ! I'm so attached with the characters already :( especially to my Da and Papa (Kip and Dov). I cried so much during CH 6 and 7. I have never experienced this kind of feeling while playing other games xD (at least not yet). The writing is so amazing, it actually makes me feel like I'm inside the story itself and I love the fact that I really feel connected with my own character. Now everytime I listen to music, all I remember is this IF haha. Thank you so much for this wonderful game! Sending lots of love<3 ^^
WOW. OK, I have a lot to say.
Last time I played this chapters 6 and 7 hadn't came out yet.
That time I complained about some decisions not feeling important, like that of being a herbalist. I can gladly say that no longer is the case. Perhaps at the expense of not adding many new choices in the new chapters, the old ones already made get mentioned a lot, and FEEL important, which is the main objective of an IF, I think, even if it's all just illusion of choice. Silly example, but when I put back in chapter 2 that I was taller than Zahn, the fact I'm tall gets mentioned a lot during the rest of the story without me having to say it again, which is very nice and feels natural. Oh, and yeah, being a herbalist felt important too, which I loved.
Also, can I mention just how MASSIVE these two chapters were!? I never expected them to be that long and rich in content! It's honestly crazy how much you've progressed the story in this short time.
My only real complain would be that, in my personal case, I've been selecting all the romantic options for Zahn at every chance I get, but at times the story seems to... forget a little? I imagine it is to make it more natural for those who want to go polyamorous, to not lock you out of the other options. And again, it's not that much of a bother anyway.
In conclusion, last time with 5 chapters I was left really liking the story, but now with 7 chapters I'm totally hooked and in awe.
I really hope you continue to work on this project and keep sharing it with us all!

At that first conversation in chapter six (first read since that was added), I uh, am unfortunate not exactly unlike Oswin. Definitely a struggle to be like that, kinda hope him presumably getting better with stuff could maybe help me a touch
It may not be completed yet, but I encourage anyone thinking about reading this IF to do so IMMEDIATELY. It is so worth it! Not only are the characters so lovingly fleshed out, but the world building is genuinely so interesting and the writing is so beautiful that it makes having to wait for more chapters SO worth it.
I cannot praise Lunan enough for having such a great story to tell, and such immaculately crafted characters. I urge anyone that is reading this comment, who may not have read this story yet, to do so RIGHT AWAY, you will not regret it, I promise you!
Also, just on a personal note, I absolutely adore the Oswin romance. The relationship built between him and the MC is so adorable and I just can't get enough. Agh! I love this story hehe.

I'm replaying the game and talking with Aster about the curse right after he saves you from the bandits, and I realized something. So we know that magic tends to follow a person, and not live inside them like it does our mc... but what if we can sort of expel the magic inside us? And when our curse tries to draw more in, we just expel it again? Due to how magic users work, we could still use it just fine, and we would get gradually more and more powerful too! We might even get to the point where it starts to increase our and any nearby people's lifespans! That is, if we can actively expel it to protect ourselves from drawing in too much magic.
side note, I get the feeling that our Mc is either a reincarnation of whoever that mysterious 10th God is, or maybe even a demigod of sorts? But whatever we are, it definitely seems to not be working correctly based on what we see from the prologue, which all of this even more interesting! 10/10 writing and plot!
Edit: I just realized something! So we know that Rune can heal people because she studied anatomy, so she can help someone's body put itself back together. So that got me thinking, we don't know much about how magic works for the gods, presumably, they just have it float around them like human magic users. But what if they store it inside of themselves too? Would they maybe have a different anatomy to facilitate such an absurd thing? And if so, even tho Rune herself said she can't grow back limbs or anything, what if Rune could help us grow said different anatomy, since we seem to have some godly magic as a part of us? She would likely have to study God anatomy, which would be quite difficult, but it could still be a very interesting solution!

huh, I was startling close with my guesses somehow, except that our Mc is a new god and not the reincarnation of one. Hell, I even predicted the god anatomy thing and Rune helping us with it!

im honestly so endeared by the sexual encounters with the mc mainly with their partners reactions to their mark. idk thinking about in the case of my mc, i'd probably find it weirdly comforting that they could see it in a different way, the bit of ignorance they have for it is great bit of escapism for the events of the story. i like playing a character who fools around often because it makes them feel normal; for a second they're not living off borrowed time, they're treated like flesh not glass and no one's fussing over them or treating them sweet because of their ailment but because they're just attractive and i felt it even moreso with the hot springs scene and there weren't any convos about their mark (that i could see, i still gotta replay to see ozzy's special scene) but when we had our encounter with jo (and the encounter with the last guy) he complimented it and it made me feel nice.
i enjoyed this recent chapter, took the whole evening to play it and i'm probably gonna replay it tomorrow. good work <3
